Principle

This website can be used without providing any personal data. No advertising networks are integrated, no visitor tracking via cookies is carried out, and no fonts are loaded from third-party servers. All fonts are hosted on our own server.

What data is collected

Server logs and hosting

This website is hosted by Hostpoint AG, Neue Jonastrasse 60, 8640 Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. The data is therefore stored in Switzerland and is subject to Swiss law.

When you visit the website, your browser transmits technical information which the hosting provider stores in log files: IP address, date and time, page accessed, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system. This data is used to ensure secure operation and to defend against attacks. It is not combined with other data sources and is not analysed for statistical purposes.

If you write to me or call me, I will process the information provided in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis for this is the initiation or fulfilment of a contract, as well as the legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Email, calendar and telephony: Microsoft 365

For email, calendar and telephony, I use Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams). The provider is Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052, USA, represented in Europe by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited.

The storage location is specified as Switzerland: Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint store and process data in Microsoft’s Swiss data centres. Exchange Online Protection, the anti-malware protection included with every Exchange plan, processes data within the EU/EFTA area.

The information you provide to me is processed: name, contact details, the content of your message and, in the case of calls, the call connection data. Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Booking an appointment

To arrange an initial consultation, I use Microsoft Bookings, which is part of the same Microsoft 365 account. When you open the booking window, a connection is established with Microsoft’s servers; your IP address and the details you enter are processed. The booking window only loads once you have explicitly opened it — not simply when you visit the page.

Links to social media

The links to LinkedIn and Instagram are simple hyperlinks. No content from these providers is loaded, and no data is transferred, unless you click on the link.

Visitor statistics

The hosting provider analyses the server logs statistically (page views, referring pages, browser types). This analysis takes place on the server, without the use of cookies and without identifying individual users. It is not possible to trace the data back to a specific individual.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own. There is no consent pop-up because there is nothing to consent to.

An exception applies if you open the booking window: Microsoft Bookings then sets its own cookies, which are necessary for the booking service to function. If you do not open the window, no cookies are set.

Fonts

The fonts used are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other font services, and no IP address is transmitted to third parties.

Retention

Data is retained only for as long as is necessary for the purpose or as required by law.

Before going live: The fonts must actually be served from our own server. The current draft still loads them from Google — as long as this is the case, the ‘Fonts’ section is incorrect. In Astro, Cairo and IBM Plex are integrated as self-hosted fonts. Furthermore: if an analytics tool is added later, it must be listed here and the page will require a consent pop-up. This text should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional.

Changes

This statement may be amended if services or the legal situation change. The version published on this page shall always apply.
