What "independent" and "commission-free" mean
Independent means I resell no products and take no vendor commissions. My income comes from my advice, not a margin on hardware, licences or subscriptions. So my recommendation has just one goal: what serves your business.

How to recognise genuinely neutral advice
A few questions are enough. Does the adviser live on fees or on product margins? Do they also name solutions they don’t sell? Are they fine with you buying elsewhere? Do they document their recommendations clearly? If the answers are clear, you’re dealing with a neutral partner.
