Independent IT consulting for SMEs: why commission-free matters

When an SME picks an IT solution, it wants the best one for its business — not the one that earns its provider the most. That’s the whole point of independent, commission-free IT consulting.

What "independent" and "commission-free" mean

Independent means I resell no products and take no vendor commissions. My income comes from my advice, not a margin on hardware, licences or subscriptions. So my recommendation has just one goal: what serves your business.

The conflicts of interest it avoids

Many providers are also resellers or vendor partners. Their advice leans — often with no bad intent — towards the products they sell. The result: oversized solutions, unnecessary lock-in and recurring costs you wouldn’t have chosen with full insight.

How to recognise genuinely neutral advice

A few questions are enough. Does the adviser live on fees or on product margins? Do they also name solutions they don’t sell? Are they fine with you buying elsewhere? Do they document their recommendations clearly? If the answers are clear, you’re dealing with a neutral partner.

What you gain

Decisions you understand, costs under control, and IT that follows your strategy — not a vendor’s catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

Are "independent" and "free" the same thing?

No. Independent means no commissions and no reseller ties; the advice is still a paid service, but its only product is the advice itself.

Can you still help me choose a vendor?

Yes. I compare the options neutrally and guide your choice — without taking a commission from any of them.

Do you work with my current providers?

Gladly. I can steer your existing partners and make sure their proposals serve your interest.

How are you paid?

By the hour, by the day or by mandate — transparently, with no hidden product margin.
